The SG-Fieldcore Fly Rod Holder was specifically designed for the SG-Fieldcore Frontier Chest Pack. Its purpose is to securely hold your fly rod close to the side of your pack - not swinging around in front like so many other fly rod holders. By staying tight to the side, it allows you to access the contents of your pack or release a fish without having a rod going across your chest.
It's comprised of two parts: the ring that clips to a gear loop on the exterior of the chest pack and the rod holder that wraps around a shoulder strap on the H-Harness.
The holder is constructed of mil-spec shock cord that is crimped and shrink wrapped on its ends. It terminates with a 1.5" o-ring that has a hi-vis orange tab for quick identification and access. We recommend running the shock cord through the side MOLLE panel of the SG-Fieldcore Frontier Chest Pack. This will prevent it from swinging around when not in use.
The holder features a Velcro One-Wrap base that allows you to easily install, remove, or reposition on the SG-Fieldcore H-Harness. Riveted to the base is the actual holder where you can easily insert and remove your fly rod with one hand. The holder is constructed out of our proprietary ACX-57 closed cell foam. This foam is waterproof and dustproof and will maintain its rigidity through repetitive use.
